Exciting news about the book!

Hello all,

It has been quite a busy summer for myself and I wanted to share my exciting news with those following my book project entitled “Destination Darkness.”

In June 2011, I had the pleasure of hearing that I will be working with Llewellyn Worldwide on bringing my personal narrative about the paranormal into reality. I am currently working with their staff on creating a final draft for publish. I am not sure what time frame is on the book for release but we are moving forward with the project!

If you were interested in seeing what other titles that Llewellyn Worldwide has in it’s library, please visit their website at http://www.llewellyn.com/

About My Aunt Bev

Beverly M. Ranua

April 23, 1945 – February 12, 2011

I am the type of person to be as reflective as possible when it comes to events within my life that hurt. I become a bit of a turtle and clam up a bit about how I feel and what is going on with me at the moment. By birth, I am a natural observer of the world and feel more like a bit of the audience than the casted star. I am okay with this as it allows me to see a different set of values within the world around me than most. I guess this is why people around me ask me my thoughts on things and I think I have finally gotten to the point where I feel comfortable enough to talk about the passing of my beloved Aunt Beverly. (I apologize to those that asked me prior to this; we all must realize the point when it is right for us to discuss what rattles around in our hearts and heads.)

Chapter Sample – “A Bad Time For A Phone Call”

A BAD TIME FOR A PHONE CALL

There is no doubt that October with the Halloween season is the busiest time of the year for anyone in the paranormal community. This is the time when people shift their attention from work, kids, and the daily life to a more spiritual thought process as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts start to fester.

For ghost hunters, this is our time to grab that attention and interest of the communities that we work in and because of this, I haven’t been to a Halloween costume party in years. I spend my time working with the local media outlets such as newspapers, local television, and magazines. They need stories of this spooky nature as it is what the people want to hear and we need the exposure for cases.

Looking back on all my Halloweens, one in particular stands out as a lesson for any ghost hunters reading this today.

Writing from the Darkness…

Lately my life has been busy. ECTO Issue 4 has taken up a lot of that time as I thought that issue would never get done. I love putting it together and really look forward to feedback but that issue seemed like it always needed to have a page done! I am glad that it is now finished and luckily for you, you can get your copy here.

I also have been busy with the TAPS Family and its restructuring. Kristen Perkins and Jeff Leeper are doing an amazing job getting some energy back into it. I hope it continues and look forward to the many things that we have in the works. I also appreciate the fact that my picture is now on the *official* TAPS website so people can stop with, “If you are a part of the TAPS Family, why aren’t you listed on the site?!” Well, here you go folks.

Also, if you guys haven’t heard yet, TAPS Family Radio is back and available for public consumption every other Monday Night on Para-X.com. The show airs 7 PM ET to 8 PM ET. If you missed the first airing, check it out as Grant Wilson talks about what he’s been up to with Tim Ellis.

I also have been working on the book slowly. Facebook is my major killer as well as distractions with the Xbox 360. My free time has consisted a lot of NHL 10 online. Oy. However, the book has the first half all edited and in a binder which was about 44 pages of 8×10. I now am focusing on the last half to be completed within the month and then shipped to my publisher. I am hoping for a Halloween ‘10 release.

Lastly, my Facebook “app” is working once more so you can now follow me on Facebook through my “Fan Page.” I did close off my public profile to friends only due to the amount of requests that I got once my ugly mug hit the TAPS website. All of my professional projects and their info will be posted on that as well as my Twitter account.

Book Update 0001: A Thought For the Title

There are a lot of folks who always tell you to write a book and worry about the title later. The say that the title is the least important thing about the book but for me, the title is the thing that is the most fun to create. It is something that people will read and categorize your book with. It is the thing that grabs their eye and something that can become a brand for your own story that is included on the pages within.

Welcome to Destination Darkness.com, a website that I launched for my own personal career and my upcoming book about my journeys into the world of ghost hunting.

The website is fairly new but I hope that you will stick around to watch it grow and harbor some of my personal thoughts on my adventures.
